The new worriment: EHEC-virus.

A big concern is growing across the EU. Recently a virus has been found that is believed to come originally from the northern part of Germany. The virus is called EHEC but also known as the HUS-syndrome. It's said that the virus came from the three most common vegetables we have; cucumbers, lettuce and tomatoes. On just a day there were more than 300 new cases in Germany with people who got the virus.

In Sweden, so far, 45 cases occurred, including 15 of those have been the more serious complication (HUS), which also attacks the kidneys. A Swedish woman has died from the disease and she had probably been infected in Hamburg when she was there on a golf holiday in early May, with a few friends. Of the 30 who went to Hamburg, 15 were found infected with the EHEC-virus. German health authorities have investigated the matter, and tried the food at the hotel that the travelers stayed at. However, they found nothing in the hotels food that could be the reason.

Germany pointed out Spain as the villain of this viral outbreak, because of Spain's cucumbers. Spanish authorities are now planning to "take action" against Germany for their statements. However, Germany said that under EUs health regulations they must report these things to the EU, especially when they've found the bacteria that creates the virus in cucumbers from Spain. But you can't be sure that this is the right cause. There is other evidence that the bacteria actually doesn't come from the cucumbers. The bacteria found in the cucumbers aren't as aggressive as those who actually killed people. German authorities are in the middle of a mystery, no one knows where the aggressive bacteria occurs from.

Let’s find a scapegoat

The Swedish election 2010 was basically as a lot of people would call a failure. “The Sweden Democrats” (that wants a drastic limitation regarding the asylum and family reunification in Sweden and wants stricter immigration politics in Sweden etc.) or “SD” as they’re called in Sweden, joined the parliament due to what the people in Sweden voted for.

I’m going to share some of my thoughts about The Sweden Democrats and why they “won” a place in the Swedish parliament. My first opinion about why The Sweden Democrats could join the Swedish parliament is that they simply manipulated and utilized people. Sweden has crises with jobs etc. so people were getting scared, aggressive and worried. When you feel scared and worried you also feel weak, you want someone to appear and save you from all things that scares you. When you feel aggressive you want a solution too, right? So, what the people in Sweden ask their selves was: Will we be able to make it? Will we provide our family with food and keep our jobs in the future?

Literally what the Sweden Democrats did was to utilize those feelings that existed among the people. To be able to succeed this little plan of theirs they simple had to find a scapegoat. Off course the muslims became the scapegoats, because many people think “they’re not like us”, they’re people we don’t know that much about since they’re not that integrated in our country yet. SD persuaded the Swedish people. They said that it was the immigrants/muslims fault that Sweden isn’t perfect.

Then we have this paradox. If an immigrant works in Sweden, SD says that the immigrants are taking our jobs. If the immigrant doesn’t have a job, then “the immigrants are living on the social services and their grants”. As an immigrant you don’t “win” anything in Sweden, that’s a true fact. So let’s just stop being so hostile and start accept the people around you. The immigrants favors the society as much as everyone else.

Just think about it for one second.
